There is a very unique event, or should I say shop, literally "popping up" on Saturday, September 10 , in downtown Memphis. This unique, or what promoters are calling awkward, Pop Up Shop is the first in what is planned to be a series of events showcasing art, fashion, music, and more. Along with local performers there is said to be an open mic as well. The idea was developed by a University of Memphis student, Clarence Simpson, with the help of some of his peers. The event is set to take place at an old abandoned building/shop and transformed into a boutique for a day.
I am excited to see the creativity of this event exude and hopefully rub off on the event goers. Ideas like this is where people get a start on their dreams.
